They simply released a statement full of empty rhetoric

EA doesn't care about people who are not investors. Removing Kaepernick's title from songs in Madden two years in a row shows it. Companies don't need you to protect themlet their lawyers do that work. EDIT: Let me be clear. But we shouldn't praise a company for reaching the absolute bare minimum. You aren't trendy and moral for thanking corporations for not spitting on you. We ought to praise firms who reveal patterns of positivity. Feel free to disagree, but please don't behave like this exact case is this incredibly complicated morally-grey circumstance. I mean I thought there were pretty strict regulations on whose titles and likeliness may be used in Madden. Just like Belicheck and Payton aren't in Madden because they are not part of the NFLCA and that's who EA includes a contract with. They might have to pay Kap if his name is utilized and are likely avoiding that. That and Kap isn't exactly welcome from the NFL planet (not talking about fans) anymore.
They both backpeddled and apologized if they were called out. They don't have rights to Kap's likeness in the game however they can cite him in the tune (just as they have plenty of other people characters in different tunes ). The fact that they did this two years in a row suggests it wasn't an innocent oversight but a real choice to collaborate using a fundamentally racist act of collusion inside the NFL. I'm not defending a provider. I am not saying EA is a bastion of justice. Most people generally (not just reddit) can not see beyond black and white. That's why negativity floats to the top in all social websites. This is a major element. Youtube for one has completed research, because it's a huge part of their company and they want to understand it. There's been testimony to congress about it that I've watched but can not find at this time. What they need is engagement and the more negatively framed something is the more folks will click it when it comes up in your recommendations.
Companies don't need you to defend them, let their lawyers do that work. "Companies do not need one to defend them", but attacking businesses when they are doing the proper thing is essential and productive? It doesn't matter if it's for PR reasons, they're still raising awareness to this problem and hurting nobody by doing this procedure. Meanwhile the men and women who see this as an opportunity to attack are only perpetuating a negative feeling of continuous whining. It is not so much about"protecting businesses" but about attacking this naturally negativity. So you are really only adding to the man's argument by doing exactly what he explained. They are not doing anything though. They simply released a statement full of empty rhetoric. You understand what doing something is? Not creating another Madden game because the NFL penalized players like Kaepernick for carrying a knee. That would be impressive. But we all know that's not what is going to occur.
